“Visual communication should taste good” is more than a catchy slogan: it is our mantra.  At Umami Media we believe that advertising should be exciting to the senses.  Our name references the Japanese word umami, which means “robust” or “delicious”.  Umami exists alongside the four more traditional tastes: salty, sweet, bitter, and sour.  Umami is the the fifth taste: the savory, mouthwatering element of certain foods.   It is an elusive flavor that has been traditionally hard to describe… but when it is there you know it.  This same x factor applies to our production.  Our company aims to improve on merely tasteful advertising by adding an additional element.  In other words: good taste should also taste good.
